Basic Education PPA JAMADAGNI

On 26 of December 2019 my extraordinary experience begins, appointed 12 of our strong soldiers as Young Members of PPA Jamadagni. For 8 days we were forged in the Panaruban Mountain region, Subang, to become a natural explorer.

The story begins December 26, 2019, we gather at the school and hold an apple ceremony there 13 soldiers say goodbye to their beloved family. Then we departed using a TNI transport truck, traveling quite far and traffic. I think in the truck is the last time we can joke fun.

We arrived at their destination, we immediately warmed up to do a long march as far as 7,9 km. We rarely break, we drink 5 bottle caps each break I think that's enough.
The sky is aging, we arrive at a resting place.

We were told to make a poncho bivouac (shelter), we were divided into 4 groups. I slept with Abiyesa and Fanny. We were also guided a little in making bivouacs and bonfires. At night it's time we sleep in cold air covered with tense feelings and thoughts.

The trumpet sound exploded and the committee shouted to wake the whole army. We ran in a row with the drowsiness still attached.

Day 2 starts with morning exercise, morning routine (eating and cooking), checking equipment, and rushing to a large expanse near the tea garden to follow open navigation material.
After that we take shelter again (making bivouac ponchos), make campfires, routine day and night. But this time one group was only 2 people.

On day 3, trumpet and committee screams echoed again. We immediately did morning exercise, morning routines, checking equipment ,and rushed to do closed navigation material. in this material there is a compass key in the form of rows of carriers (carrying machetes), sweepers (carrying machetes too), compas man (determining direction with a compass), and stringline (which marks trees by tying raffia ropes) .After that we moved again to make poncho bivouac (shelter), routine day and night, and went back to sleep.

On day 4 the sound of the trumpet and the committee's shout echoed again. Morning exercise, morning routine, we have to go through tools, today we are doing SAR (Search and Rescue) material, and PPGD (Emergency First Aid) material. In PPGD I was chosen as a victim and I was only allowed to lie down without making a sound. My group Azki, Fatur, Abiyesa made a stretcher and lifted me to the finish.
But in the middle of my journey when they appointed me, Abiyesa felt so tired and made him unfocused that he was harassed by the committee until Abiyesa said that she gave up becoming a Jamadagni student.
Arriving at the finish the sad moment happened because Abiyesa was determined to give up but within 5 minutes we tried to convince the spirit of togetherness so Abiyesa remained strong. And finally Abiyesa is back with us. That night we made bivouac poncho, night routine, evening apples, and went back to sleep.

Day 5 starts with a trumpet and the committee screams again. As usual morning exercise, morning routine, check the tool done. We walked to another place to follow practical biology material, and survival material. In practical biology we are given 20 minutes to find all the plants and animals that we can eat for the next 6 days. Starting today we will eat food from the contents of the forest to survive.

Some are looking for banana hearts, banana stems, pole nails, worms, sago caterpillars, honje, begonias, and bananas. I chose to look for worms because it was very interesting to me, I got so many worms that made me happy haha.

Then we make natural bivouac, this bivouac we use natural materials such as leaves of tree trunks and tendrils. But today Abiyesa really gave up and decided to go home.

Day 6 we do the whole routine as usual and do trap material to catch prey. But unfortunately none of the animals caught. On this day it rained heavily when installing individual bivouacs. We are soaked and cold until nightfall.

Trumpets reverberated again to mark the 7th day where we started a long march very far away.

18 hours we do a long march starting at 11 noon until 5 in the morning. Beginning with passing through the tea garden and get lunch green bean porridge continued the journey until 11:30 at night we stopped and did dinner with manado porridge.

The portion that is given is very much to make the stomach not stand. The journey continues until sleepiness does not hold back. Finally we arrive and do the morning prayer and go straight to bed using a poncho leaning with friends in a circle.

The trumpets and screams of the committee reverberated again, we only slept for about 2 hours.

When we wake up we are forced to walk squatting and creeping command in a sea of mud. When we were told to make a later U there we were tested for kinship and unexpectedly when we turned right the entire committee and parents had stood in the position of the inauguration ceremony for Young Members of PPA JAMADAGNI class of 44.

Tears could not stand dripping. One by one the soldier advances to the middle of the field to be appointed as a Young Member. Never thought all that had been passed.
For 8 days we were tested mentally, physically, focused, perseverance, and kinship. Although we were educated hard but it was all for the sake of our goodness to become real nature explorers.

I think the journey of the 44th soldier has just begun, keep the spirit of my tough family!💙💛

Is Social Media Good For Teenagers?

Is Social Media Good For Teenagers?   Social media has become an integral part of nearly every teenager in the world.  As a result, parents, educators, and other adults have a great desire to understand the role that social media plays in teens’ lives. Some are optimistic about social media use, while others are sure it will cause more harm than good, especially when it comes to the emotional well-being of the teens. Mostly teenagers spend much of their time engaging in activities on Instagram. They are updating status, posting pictures, liking, and commenting and others posting for nearly six hours a day on average. For many, their addiction to social media has started to interfere with their daily lives and parents are outraged. The obvious question for most is when has social media use become an addiction and what should be done about it. Teens of today are the first to embark upon teenage years with social networking sites; therefore it is still unclear if social networking will
